Amazing solo trip to Poon hill
I went on a solo trek to Poon hill. Traveling as a single lady feeling safe and being safe is very important to me. Abinash my guide always smiling and very helpful at every step of the way. I knew Abinash from a EBC trek I did last year in a group trip, coming back to Nepal for a short spring hike was easy to arrange. The weather was perfect and the sky was clear. Spent some time in Pokhara too on the lake and did the must shopping. Here it was great to have Abinash come along as he made sure I got a good price. Food, weather and company was perfect for this solo trip. I highly recommend this to other solo travels or small groups if you are looking for a trip that is off script to the traditional tours.

Unique mountain views on a 3 week Kanchanjunga trek
With a group of 4 friends we did the Kanchanjunga trek during the month of March 24. The 3 weeks trek was extremely well organised by KP and his team. We got a detailed and realistic itinerary suitable for our fitness level before the start of the trek. During the trek itself we even got the freedom to adjust the proposed itinerary by taking a jeep to skip a piece of construction site and staying at a different accomodation than planned.
The company values customer care and clear communication. During the trek they checked in with the guide and us if everything was going well.
Our guide Jangbu Scherpa was a true expert and knew the surrounding area by heart. He was very helpfull towards us as trekkers but also towards guesthouse owners. His enthousiasm and friendliness was truly infectious. We could not have wished for a better guide.
Nirvana trails is the company to choose for trekking in Nepal because of their professionalism and knowledge.Dear Eli, Namaste!

Great adventure!
We really enjoyed our Adventure with Nepal Nirvana Trails during the Manaslu Circuit Trek. The nature is stunning and we’ve had an impression how Nepalese people live in the mountains. Fysically we were ok, only the day of the pass was hard. For the readers: we are a sportive couple of age 27.
Our guide, Sukram, gave us good tips about altitude sickness. Due to his rest we made it through Larkya Pass without taking Diamox. We were also able to ask all our questions about the mountains, culture, etc.
It’s been an unforgettable adventure we will never forget! Special thanks to Sukram 🙏Dear Jorn, Namaste!

Annapurna Circuit -- Bhairus and Sapte Superstars!
My boyfriend and I just finished our trek through the Annapurna Circuit with trusty guide Bhairus and our porter Sapte. I could not have more good things to say!! Bhairus was extremely knowledgeable about the mountains, quick to point things out and answer my boyfriend and my hundreds of questions on things like rocks, animal sounds, the Nepalese language, Nepalese customs, and (of course) the landscape. Bhairus also clearly takes a ton of pride in his work as a guide. He likes to know which guest houses are best and was always careful to check our rooms before we went in and make sure our food was up to standards. He coordinated the logistics of our entire trip, which meant that all my boyfriend and I had to do was have a great time. He also knows his stuff! He has been working in the mountains for more than 20 years, starting as a porter and then transitioning to a guide. Other guides from other companies were calling him for advice! A good chunk of the Annapurna Circuit involves preparing for the Thorong La pass, in particular the high altitude that crossing it entails. Bhairus was always careful to make sure we were drinking enough water, and he regularly checked for symptoms to make sure that we would not suffer from altitude sickness. We joked that he was our "Mountain Doctor," but it was (no joke) seriously a relief to have him around monitoring. As for the Thorong La pass... it is not easy. I seriously don't think I could have made it through without Bhairus. He knew exactly what to do in every situation. He is patient and unflappable. I really needed his reassuring presence and knowledge to get me through that. Bhairus, thank you! Separately, the guide on these treks basically becomes part of your experience and part of your trekking family, so it's important to have someone that you get alone with. Bhairus was excellent in that way. He made us feel comfortable. He likes to joke and has a humility about him that is very approachable. If I do another trek through the Himalayas, I would 100% choose Bhairus again. After we said goodbye at the end of the trek, my boyfriend and I legitimately missed him. He is a genuinely good person. We need more Bhairus-es in the world.
And then, of course, we have Sapte! Sapte, our porter, was incredibly kind and helpful. He was always willing to do anything he could to make our trip more comfortable. At one point, my boyfriend's cramp ons broke, and we asked Sapte to ask the guest house if they had pliers, and he tried to fix the cramp ons himself using his own teeth! We luckily stopped him, and the guest house had pliers, but I mention this because it shows the great lengths Sapte was willing to go to to make sure we had a great experience. He is in training to become a guide in the future (guides have to be porters for at least 3 years before becoming a guide), so he was particularly helpful throughout the process. Plus, he is adorable! We all played cards together a few nights, and the expressions on Sapte's face of pure, sweet joy when playing are wonderful. He also seemed to be helpful for Bhairus, who was able to tag team with him when, for example, our itinerary changed and Sapte could run ahead to make sure a guest house was free. Bhairus and Sapte clearly know each other well, and it was cool to see them interact. We loved Sapte and would definitely work with him again.
Overall, my experience with Nepal Nirvana was excellent from start to finish. I spoke with several agencies prior to booking, and Nepal Nirvana was by far the most responsive to my questions. They were also able to work with different budgets and be flexible on the itinerary dependent on my needs. The owner, KP, called several times during my trek to make sure things were going well. He also obtained tickets for my boyfriend and I to get back to Kathmandu and had helpful suggestions on how to make sure the transfer went as smoothly as possible. Nepal Nirvana is a newer company, and it seems that KP started it after himself working as a guide for many years. That experience comes through with the quality guides and their knowledge of these mountains.
As to the trek itself, Annapurna Circuit is beautiful, and it is also not for the faint of heart. That Thorong La pass is no joke, and I meant what I said above about needing Bhairus to get me through it. To be honest, if I could have the beauty of the rest of the trek without having to go through the pass, I'd take it. Some people see the pass as an achievement and appreciate it for that reason, so depends on who you are. Also, the Annapurna Circuit involves walking on a lot of road, not trail, which appears to be a rarity among the Himalaya treks. My boyfriend and I chose the Annapurna Circuit because it is so famous, but had I known about the amount of time we'd be walking on road and the true SUCK that is the Thorong La pass, I might have chosen a different trek. But, Nepal Nirvana and KP do many, many treks, and you might consider asking for their advice on which trek to do depending on what you're looking for.
Bottom line: Highly recommend Nepal Nirvana; Bhairus is the man, and Sapte is awesome.Dear Allison, Namaste!
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your detailed and glowing review of your trek with us at Nepal Nirvana Trails. We are thrilled to hear that you had such a positive experience with Bhairus, Sapte, and our team. Once again, thank you for choosing Nepal Nirvana Trails for your Himalayan adventure, recommending our services and we hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back for another unforgettable trek in the future.

Amazing guide, amazing views, one very tough day
This was the adventure of a lifetime, all thanks to Nepal Nirvana, and our amazing guide Bhairas (and, of course, our porter Sapta).
The company was very responsive in communications, even on a very short timeline (we booked the trip two weeks before it was going to start, and had to fit it all in a 14 day vacation window).
Our guide, Bhairas, was absolutely amazing: with 19 years of experience in the mountains; knowledge of the trails, the people, and communities we met; kindness, humor, and care; and an encyclopedic memory for the height of every mountain we encountered (including each one of their altitudes). He was the perfect guide for my girlfriend and I, who don’t have as much experience doing this kind of trek. I truly felt like Bhairas and Sapta were our friends, who wanted us to succeed, and did what they could to make us feel comfortable and happy. I was genuinely very sad to say goodbye to them at the end of our trip. I learned so much from Bhairas and he has made a lasting impression in my mind and heart.
As to the trip itself:
Our trip started with a flight into Kathmandu, where Bhairas picked us up and took us to our hotel. We met KP, the owner of the company, and talked through our itinerary.
The following day, we drove to Jagat. From there we started hiking: Dharapani, Chame, Upper Pisang (beautiful!!), Manang (we stayed only one day and skipped acclimatization since we were doing well and taking altitude meds), Ledar, Thorong High Camp (definitely recommend going here rather than staying at Thorong Phedi, otherwise the day of the pass will be VERY long), then Muktinath. Lastly we drove to Gorepani/Gode Pani for a short trek to and from Poon Hill, and finally ended the trip with a drive to Pokhara. All throughout, Bhairas was amazing and Sapta helped carry our load.
The trek is beautiful, with gorgeous views of the mountains at many points. It can get cold, hot, dusty, and rainy, and you have to be prepared for each circumstance. We were fortunate to catch mostly good weather, but even so, make sure to have warm clothing (gloves, hat, coat) and a good sleeping bag, as nights can get VERY cold. As I found out, it’s better to have 2 very good shirts instead of 5 ok ones: you don’t need the extra weight, and when things get cold, you’ll want something that will definitely keep you warm. The day you make the Thorong La Pass is difficult - even if you take altitude meds, like we did. It’s a cold and very long day with a bunch of uphill and A LOT of fairly steep downhill. Make sure to stay hydrated throughout the trip (not just the day you make the pass). There are plenty of stops to refill water, though to be safe, you’ll want a filter (we used a Katadyn and it was awesome, even if it took a few minutes to fill our Nalgenes and Camelbacks from it). Don’t eat meat high in the mountains (your guides will advise you in the same way). I suggest you also don’t drink alcohol on the trek since it dehydrates you. I’ll be posting a video on YouTube with some of this info if you’d find it helpful - I’ll add the link here when it’s done.
Accommodations will vary in quality, though most of them were great given where they were located. With Baihras, we always knew we were getting the BEST available options, and we always felt like he cared about our comfort and happiness.
Some of the hiking will be done on dirt roads that occasionally will have a jeep or motorbike on them (there are some trails you’ll take too, but many have been wiped out by landslides). There are also plans by Nepal in progressa to eventually pave this whole circuit of roads, so keep that in mind and do your research if that affects where you want to go. Ask the folks at Nirvana and they will guide you well. Overall, I didn’t mind the occasional jeep, and the roads still brought us to some stunning views.
All this is to say: I had an amazing time on this trip, and it’s one that I’ll never forget. I laughed, I learned, I grew as a person, and I made some new friends (Bhairas and Sapta). I also grew closer to my girlfriend. On that note, if you go with a partner or friend, be prepared to support each other through some difficult times, and have patience and understanding with each other. It’s a tough trek.
Thank you Bhairas and Sapta, and Nepal Nirvana.Dear Andrei,

Amazing experience!
This is the 3rd time I've trekked with Nepal Nirvana and as always the trek was executed flawlessly. Our guide Jangbu was very knowledgeable about the trek and was able to answer any question we asked him. He was always there to help whenever we needed him and made sure we wanted for nothing. He became a friend over the time we spent together, as with the other guides I have trekked with from this company.
I was more than happy with the price we paid, especially after speaking with others in Kathmandu and hearing what they had been quoted for the same trek!
We chose to do the Kanchenjunga circuit and it was easily my favourite trek in Nepal so far! (started 1st March 2024). What an adventure! The trek is very varied in landscape from trekking along side a beautiful river, walking through lush woodland, to exploring a baron, treeless landscape, surrounded by some of the highest peaks in the world!
We didn't see another group for the first 3 days and then only bumped into 5 other people the whole trek!
I definitely recommend this trek to anybody looking for something less explored and off the beaten track. In 20 years time this trek will be the new EBC so get there before the crowds!
It was also the cheapest trek I've been on in terms of general price for food, snacks and accommodation. Far cheaper than EBC, Gokyo lake, Manaslu, Tsum Valley, Langtang and Gosaikunda.
The trek also offers a chance to see the famous Rhododendron flowers in full bloom (not when we trekked but around later March onwards) and distant views of Everest, Makalu and the surrounding peaks if that's something you wish to tick off your bucket list!
Oh and we saw a fresh snow leopard footprint in the sand of a path we had walked up only 30 minutes before! Madness!
All in all a fantastic experience and a trip of a life time. Thanks again KP, the Nepal Nirvana team and Jangbu sherpa. See you again in the future!Dear Joe, Namaste!
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your incredible experience with us! We are delighted to hear that your third trek with Nepal Nirvana was as flawless and enjoyable as the previous ones. Jangbu is indeed an exceptional guide, and we are thrilled to hear that his knowledge and dedication made your trek even more memorable. It's wonderful to hear that you found the trek to be not only enriching but also affordable. We strive to offer competitive prices without compromising on the quality of our services. Once again, thank you for choosing Nepal Nirvana for your trekking adventure, and we look forward to welcoming you back in the future!
