Gokyo Lakes and Renjo La Pass Trek 13 Days is an adventurous trek that offers an off-the-beaten trekking experience and spectacular mountain views.

Renjo La pass is one of the high passes in the Khumbu region, located close to Tibet. Trekkers usually cross during the Gokyo Lakes and Renjo La pass trek or Everest Three High Passes Trek. The top of the pass offers breathtaking landscapes.

Leave the mainstream trekking route behind and embark on a relatively less-crowded, exotic trail in the Everest region during our Gokyo Lakes and Renjo La pass trek.

Gokyo Lakes Trek ascends through the Sagarmatha National Park. You will cross many thrilling suspension bridges and come across a range of flora & fauna while trekking. The Gokyo Lake Trek with Renjo La Pass route passes by beautiful Sherpa villages. You will get to see the lifestyle and cultural heritage of Sherpas along with people from other communities.

What about the views?

Gokyo Lake with Renjo La pass Trek is one of the best treks to witness superb views of Mt. Everest (8,848 m/29,031 ft). You get to see Everest from Gokyo Ri (5,357 m/17,575.4 ft), Renjo La Pass, and many other spots. Other mountains like Mt. Cho Oyu (8,188 m/26,864 ft), Island Peak, Mt. Ama Dablam (6,812 m/22,349 ft), Mt. Cholatse (6,440 m/21,130 ft), Mt. Lhotse (8,516m/27,940 ft), Mt. Nuptse (7,861 m/25,791 ft), etc, are seen during the Renjo La pass trek.

Apart from the towering mountains, the gorgeous Gokyo Lakes (4,700 m–5,000 m) and picturesque Gokyo village are some of the major highlights of this trek. You will be seeing glaciers, valleys, and incredible sceneries throughout the Gokyo Lakes and Renjo La pass trek.

The rich Sherpa traditions and colorful prayer flags decorate the trail with their divine presence. The dark green hue of the dense forests and the beautiful shades of rhododendron let you immerse yourself in nature.

Gokyo Lakes and Renjo La pass trek best time

The best time to trek to Gokyo Valley is from March to April (spring) and October to November (autumn). These months are the peak time to travel in the Everest region. Stable weather is crucial when it comes to trekking in the Himalayas.

Spring and autumn have the perfect weather and moderate climate for trekking. The views are clear and stunning. At the same time, the trail bloomed with seasonal flowers and vegetation. The temperature ranges between 5°C to 18°C.

Accommodation

In Kathmandu, you will stay overnight in a tourist standard or three-star hotel. If you want, we can also book a luxury overnight stay in Kathmandu or on the trail (additional charges apply). During the trek, the accommodation is the lodge.

The rooms will be small, twin-shared, but clean and comfortable. The mornings and nights can get colder, therefore carry a sleeping bag with you, as the blanket provided in the lodge might not be enough. Likewise, the washroom will be private. Some places may have a shared toilet.

Food

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided to you during the trek. The option is quite wide in the Khumbu region, especially in villages like Phakding, Namche Bazar, Tengboche, etc. You can get many western dishes like pizza, burgers, fish & chips, steak, macaroni, delicious bakery items, freshly brewed coffee, etc.

Along with these other dishes like dal bhat, veggies, curries, chapati, soup, porridge, eggs, toast, thukpa, momo, thenduk, etc are available too. Dal Bhat is the most delicious and fresh option you will get to have while trekking. And we advise trekkers to have it because of its nutritional value.  In Kathmandu, we offer breakfast and a welcome & farewell dinner. You can have other meals as per your desire.

Travel Insurance

During remote treks like Gokyo Valley Trek, travel insurance is important. As the region does not have proper health care facilities and other infrastructures if any unseen event occurs, the only way to get quick help is through air evacuation. Things like this happen rarely, but it is better to be safe than sorry.

Your travel insurance should cover medical bills and emergency air evacuation. Likewise, you can also add coverage for baggage loss, flight cancellation, etc in the travel insurance.

Bespoke Trek to Gokyo Ri - Highly Recommended

Wow what an amazing adventure we have had… We would highly recommend KP and his team and we would most certainly use them again on any future Nepal trips. Our guide Abinash was perfect for our trek to Gokyo Ri and went above and beyond in looking after us and making sure we enjoyed the trek. We arrived a couple of weeks after the devastating floods as well as cloudy days late in the season meant transport to Lukla was very difficult. This meant we needed to make changes to our plans, which KP and Abinash had fully anticipated and took care of, doing everything to minimise disruption and we were pleased we still got to do everything we planned. This demonstrated how vital it is to have a good experienced tour operator and guide for trekking in Nepal. Thank you for looking after us and making our trip an enjoyable challenge and the fulfilling of a life long ambition.

    Dear Paul, Namaste!
Thank you so much for your kind words and positive feedback! We are thrilled to hear that you had such an amazing adventure with us. It's great to know that Abinash was able to make your trek to Gokyo Ri a memorable experience and that our team was able to assist in overcoming the challenges caused by the floods and weather conditions. We always strive to ensure our clients enjoy their trips to the fullest, no matter the circumstances.
We would be honored to welcome you back on any future Nepal adventures.
    Warm regards,
