This drive includes attractive views of scenic landscapes, rivers, and mountains.

Barpak is a technologically developed village with all the modern facilities like electricity and internet. Barpak is also the gateway of Rupina La Pass trekking. Barpak is a culturally decorated village that offers a magnificent view of Manaslu mountain can be seen. We will then reach Larpak village, another cultural village like Barpak with a captivating landscape. Every village we go through in the lower Manaslu trek has its significance. Sita Gufa (Cave) and Sirandada are the two places we visit on the way to Deurali.

We will be on a scenic drive to Barpak village, the home of late Captain Gaje Ghale, who had been awarded the Victoria Cross of Great Britain. Barpak is the village with the Gurung communities that were the British army. One can view the glorious mountain views from Barpak village. We will stay at the homestay for the night.

Leaving Barpak village behind, we will walk on our trip to Laprak Village. Trekking to Laprak, we will get to the way proceeding the Rupina la pass trekking.  We can experience the warm hospitality of the people of Laprak village in the homestay.

At Laprak village, we wake up with beautiful hills and mountain views. We will begin our walk on the alluring trail and reach Nambai Kharka. Nambai Kharka is pasture land where the people from Laprak have cowsheds. We will have vegetarian food during our stay at the homestay.

We will rise early and hike to the Dharche Danda which offers mesmerizing views of more than twenty snow-covered mountain peaks. Then, we will trek to Tallo Thotneri, enjoying the greenery of the village and encountering several local villagers on our way.

We begin our journey from Tallo Thotneri with the sounds of birds chirping and exquisite hills and mountains view. Moving along the pathway, we will reach the Sita Cave which is one of the major attractions of the Lower Manaslu Trek. Passing through several villages, we will reach Deurali, a small settlement of people of different castes and cultures living in harmony.

We will take the bus to Kathmandu from the doorway of the place we stay overnight. The drive is about one and a half hours to Gorkha. If you want to visit the Gorkha palace and explore Gorkha Bazaar then we extend our trek by staying in Gorkha overnight. Otherwise, we will continue our bus ride to Kathmandu.

Best Time For The Lower Manaslu Trek

Lower Manaslu trek is best during Spring Season(March-April) and Autumn Season(September- December). The lower Manaslu trek can be done at any season of the year, as it is located at a lower altitude and won't be difficult to trek even in the Winter Season(January- February). This region is suitable for any season to trek on. The temperature won't drop too low in the lower altitudes even during the winter. This is an easy trek and you don’t even need trekking equipment during the trek. 

Lower Manaslu Trek Difficulty

Lower Manaslu trek is one of the easy trekking. The way is well paved in the lower areas and is filled with mud and rocks throughout the journey of the upper hills. You don't need to have many tough gears for this trek and you will have no problem with altitude sickness. You trek in the winter season then, there are possibilities of not getting the transportation to the exact destinations.

 Accommodation and Food

There are community-based homestays in trekking areas. You will get to interact with the local people and their culture and traditions. The local cultural dance is performed by the villagers in some areas. You will be served the typical Nepali food, Dal Bhat Tarkari with seasonal vegetables. Lower Manaslu Trek Permit Costs The lower Manaslu trek does not require any permits as of now. There is no provision for a permit fee for the Lower Manaslu Trek as you will not enter the tourist checking posts.
