The Mardi Himal is a short and easy trek in the Annapurna Region. The Mardi Himal 5 Days Trek starts just after a two-hour drive far from the famous tourist hub of Nepal, Pokhara. The trek offers breathtaking views of the marvelous mountains of the Annapurna Region. The Mardi Himal Trek used to be one of the lesser-known treks of the Annapurna trekking region, but it has welcomed foreign and local tourists in huge numbers in recent years.
The trek starts with about two hours of drive to Kande from Pokhara. After we reach Kande, our walking trail officially starts, and we begin our hike to Australian Camp. The pathway is moderate and easy to walk. It is a bit steeper to the Australian Camp and downhill to Pothana from the Australian Camp. The beginning of this trek is easy and doable for beginner trekkers.
Unlike other trekking routes, this route does not follow the pathway of local villages from Pothana. The trekking trail is under the woods, which gives an adventurous vibe even in the easy trek. As altitude increases the size of the trees also starts being short. Mardi Himal Trail is rich in jungle resources with loads of rhododendron and alpine trees.
As soon as you reach high camp, the temperature starts to fall and you might even feel dizzy. There is a high chance of simple symptoms like dizziness while reaching high camp. High Camp is the last stoppage point before Mardi Himal Base Camp. In clear weather, you will be viewing the mesmerizing view profiles of the Mardi Himal and other Annapurna Range mountains.
After walking for two-three hours early in the morning, you will reach the Mardi Himal base camp, which is at the elevation of 4200 meters from sea level. Mardi Himal Base Camp offers the most beautiful view of the beautiful Annapurna Range. Mardi Himal Base Camp's viewpoint offers a staggering sunrise reflecting the mountains. To see this view, you have to be lucky enough to have the weather in your favor as well.
Annapurna Mountain Range
From the trail of Mardi Himal Trek, we can see the exquisite and panoramic view of the Annapurna Mountain Range. Fishtail, Annapurna, Mardi, and Dhaulagiri are the mountains we can see on this trail. When the weather is clear, these mountains can be seen with a closer view. The experience of watching so many mountains from close is very extraordinary.
Mardi Himal Base Camp
Situated at 4250 meters above sea level is the highest and furthest we will go on this trek. The Mardi Himal base camp and several viewpoints on the way offer the best views of the Mardi Himal and Annapurna Range with the sunrise if the weather allows it.
Mardi Himal
Mardi Himal stands at an altitude of 5587 meters and is the major attraction of this trek. We will reach the lap of Mardi Himal and have the closest view of Mardi Himal from the Mardi Himal Viewpoint. Mardi Himal looks aesthetically beautiful from the distance, and the peak is itself classified as, “Trekking Peak” by the Government of Nepal.
Badal Danda
Badal Danda is the well-known viewpoint of the Mardi Himal Trek that comes along the route, which provides a natural and beautiful view of the different mountains of the Annapurna Himalayan range. This is also the major stopping point for tourists. On a clear day, the clear views of several mountains like Annapurna, Fishtail, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, and Mardi impress you with their stunning views.
